Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting that Ernest Hemingway described as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience with hundreds of baboons and over 400 bird species in its lush jungle like forest.

Ndutu is within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area bordering the Serengeti National Park. It’s an amazing area to visit from December to March, when there are huge numbers of wildebeest and zebras that give birth to their young during calving season.

Serengeti was voted the #1 Safari destination in the world for a reason! Its majestic and awe inspiring beauty is definitely something one should experience in their lifetime. You will be blessed with panoramic views, amazing wildlife and spectacular photos! Serengeti is also the last natural grazing ecosystem in the world and home to The Great Wildebeest Migration, said to be the “greatest wildlife show on Earth”. The Serengeti is said to have over 3 million large mammals and nearly 500 species of birds. It should give you plenty of opportunities to see the “Big 5″ in one day (Lion, Rhino, Elephant, Leopard and African Buffalo)!

The UNESCO Heritage site of Ngorongoro Crater is actually the largest unbroken caldera in the world and boasts the most diverse group of animals anywhere. About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sqkms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder and also known as the “cradle of humankind”. Make sure that your camera is ready as you descend to the crater floor. Enjoy the splendor of the magnificent views as it’s a great time for wildlife viewing and sunrise photos. Here you have the opportunity to see lions, leopards, cheetahs, Rhinos and a host of other game species. After a wonderful picnic lunch, we ascend the crater and then towards our next destination.

After breakfast we will drive to Mto wa Mbu Village. This area gives you a beautiful opportunity to experience a variety of different activities. With another local guide from the area, you have the option of either Canoeing, Biking or Hiking in the Lake Manyara/Mto Wa Mbu region. Here you will get the chance to see local villages, learn about rice, corn and banana plantations, the livelihood of the people, visit a market and even have traditional food and local brew. After the activities, we will start heading towards the airport via Planet Lodge Airport for showering and refreshment before the flight.
