Who we are

Africa Bound Tours is a tour operator based in Arusha, Tanzania. When this notice says “we”, it means Africa Bound Tours. You can contact us about your data through the details on our contact page.

What we collect

• Trip requests. When you send the “Plan your trip” form we receive what you type: your name, email, phone number if you give one, where you live, who is travelling (including children’s ages), dates, interests, budget range, any dietary or accessibility needs, and your message. We also record the page you started from and the time you agreed to this notice.
• Newsletter. If you sign up, we keep your email address, when you confirmed, and when you unsubscribe.
• Technical data. To stop spam we store a one-way scrambled version of your IP address, not the address itself. If you allow analytics, we count page events (for example “a safari page was viewed”) without cookies or any identifier that can be linked to you.

Why we use it

• To reply to your request and plan and operate your trip. This is necessary to take steps you have asked for before a contract.
• To send the newsletter, only after you have confirmed your subscription. You can unsubscribe with one click in any newsletter.
• To keep the website secure and understand, in aggregate, which pages help travellers.

We do not sell your data and we do not add trip requests to the newsletter.

Who sees it

Our team in Arusha. When you book, we share what is needed with the lodges, camps, park authorities and airlines on your itinerary. Our email and hosting providers process data on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Trip requests that don’t lead to a booking are erased after 24 months. Records of trips you book are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or erase your data, or object to how we use it, by contacting us. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
