16-Day Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar

A warm welcome at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to the Nairobi Serena Hotel. Depending on your arrival time, explore nearby attractions or simply unwind in preparation for the safari ahead.

A guided morning in Kenya's vibrant capital — the Giraffe Centre, David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage (subject to hours), Karen Blixen Museum or craft markets — then lunch at a selected restaurant before descending into the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at Lake Elementaita to breathtaking views and abundant birdlife.

A morning boat ride on Lake Naivasha among hippos and spectacular birdlife, then a guided walking safari on Crescent Island — strolling among giraffe, zebra and wildebeest. After lunch, the scenic drive continues to the world-famous Maasai Mara, arriving late afternoon.

A full-day game drive with picnic lunch inside the reserve, searching for lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo and cheetah across the Mara's sweeping grasslands — and, in season, the spectacle of thousands of wildebeest and zebra crossing the Mara River.

An entire day exploring the endless plains. Your expert guide leads you through diverse habitats in search of the Big Five, cheetahs, hyenas, crocodiles and countless grazers, with a picnic lunch served inside the park between drives.

Descend some 600 metres onto the crater floor — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — for a game drive among black rhino, lion prides, elephant and vast herds, with a picnic breakfast in the wild. Ascend around midday and drive to the Karatu highlands for lunch and a leisurely afternoon in the lodge's tranquil gardens.

Transfer to Arusha airport for the scheduled flight to Zanzibar. On arrival, meet our representative and transfer to your beach resort on the island's east coast. The rest of the day is yours — white sand, warm turquoise water, nothing on the agenda.

A full day at leisure — beach, pool and the Indian Ocean, with optional snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking or spa treatments through the resort.

By boat to Prison Island and its century-old giant tortoises, then a guided walk through Stone Town's winding alleys — the House of Wonders, Old Fort, former Slave Market and bustling bazaars. End with a fragrant spice-farm tour among cloves, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg before returning to the beach.

One more unhurried day on the east coast — swim, sail, spa, or simply watch the dhows drift by on the horizon.

Enjoy a relaxed morning at leisure at the resort, with time to unwind and make the most of your final hours in Zanzibar. After lunch, check out and transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your evening flight home, bringing your East African safari and beach holiday to a memorable close.
