8-Day Tanzania Classic Tour

This Safari is for those who are interested in more than just your typical game drives! It combines some amazing activities for Adventurers who like to have a little more physical and active component. Highlights include a Full day Hike in Materuni Waterfalls, Canoeing or biking in Mto wa Mbu! All this is integrated in your Northern Circuit with visits to the World Famous Serengeti National Park, the UNESCO Heritage site of the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken Caldera in the world.

Day by Day Overview

Karibu and Welcome to Tanzania. We hope you are as excited to begin your Adventure as we are to showing you beautiful Tanzania. Your representative will be waiting for you with a sign at the airport with the flight details you have provided. You will be given a short trip briefing so you know what to expect on our way to your accommodation of choice.

We will set an agreed upon time in the morning for the beginning of your Adventure. Your Adventure will always begin with a briefing about your trip, some general tips and recommendation by your knowledgeable and professional guide.

Meet friendly people and Discover Shooting beautiful scenarios which are not to be found anywhere around Africa. Visit the most exciting areas for cultural and Recreational walking as Materuni village. Also this walking is very important for acclimatization before and after hiking the Mt.Kilimanjaro and those from long safari. In this Tour you will have chance to visit a beautiful waterfall. The music from the waterfalls and radiant colors of the valley makes one to feel the nature beauty and peace of this magnificent natural site. Also you can have a chance to swim in so don’t forget your swimming costume. From the blessed presence of the fertile volcanic soils on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro majority of villagers are subsistence farmers, practicing cultivation on crops like coffee, banana, beans, yams potatoes etc. Take a walk through coffee farms and visit a local home where you will learn the whole process of preparing coffee in tradition way from beans to cup and then you will enjoy a delicious cup of Kilimanjaro coffee. Have a cup of homemade coffee with our local people.

Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting that Ernest Hemingway described as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience with hundreds of baboons and over 400 bird species in its lush jungle like forest.

Serengeti was voted the #1 Safari destination in the world for a reason! Its majestic and awe-inspiring beauty is definitely something one should experience in their lifetime. You will be blessed with panoramic views, amazing wildlife and spectacular photos! Serengeti is also the last natural grazing ecosystem in the world and home to The Great Wildebeest Migration, said to be the “greatest wildlife show on Earth”. The Serengeti is said to have over 3 million large mammals and nearly 500 species of birds. It should give you plenty of opportunities to see the “Big 5″ in one day (Lion, Rhino, Elephant, Leopard and African Buffalo)!

The UNESCO Heritage site of Ngorongoro Crater is actually the largest unbroken caldera in the world and boasts the most diverse group of animals anywhere. About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq. kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder and also known as the “cradle of humankind”.

Make sure that your camera is ready as you descend to the crater floor. Enjoy the splendor of the magnificent views as it’s a great time for wildlife viewing and sunrise photos. Here you have the opportunity to see lions, leopards, cheetahs, Rhinos and a host of other game species. After a wonderful picnic lunch, we ascend the crater and then towards our accommodation.

After breakfast we will drive to Mto wa Mbu Village. This area gives you a beautiful opportunity to experience a variety of different activities. With another local guide from the area, you have the option of either Canoeing, Biking or Hiking in the Lake Manyara/Mto Wa Mbu region. Here you will get the chance to see local villages, learn about rice, corn and banana plantations, the livelihood of the people, visit a market and even have traditional food and local brew. After the activities, we will start heading towards the airport via Planet Lodge Airport for showering and refreshment before the flight.
